Manchester United have reportedly been linked with a £30m swoop for France international star Blaise Matuidi, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Premier League side, who visit AFC Bournemouth on the opening weekend of the new 2016/17 English top-flight campaign on August 14, are interested in luring the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder to Old Trafford this summer.

The 29-year-old, who has 51 international caps for his country and featured for France at his homeland’s 2016 European Championships earlier this month as they lost out to Portugal in the final, scored five goals and provided nine assists in 48 appearances in all competitions for the runaway Ligue 1 champions last season.

Matuidi, who joined PSG from French rivals Saint-Etienne back in July 2011, is understood to been told that he can leave the Parc des Princes.

The report suggests that the Frenchman is available for around £30m, however Premier League rivals Chelsea and Serie A champions Juventus are also said to be interested in his services.
