Manchester United have reportedly tabled a £30m bid for Portugal international defender Nelson Semedo, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who defeated Ajax last month in the 2017 UEFA Europa League final to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next term, have been continuously linked with a move for the Benfica right-back this summer.

The 23-year-old, who has four international caps for his country, scored two goals and provided 12 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for the Primeira champions last season.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.

Semedo, who is also said to be attracting interest from La Liga giants FC Barcelona, could become The Red Devils’ second summer signing following former team-mate Victor Lindelof’s £31m arrival at Old Trafford earlier this month.

The report suggests United manager Jose Mourinho has raided Benfica again for another of their league-winning star, having used predominant winger Antonio Valencia at right-back during his reign at The Theatre of Dreams so far.
