Manchester United have reportedly held talks over a potential summer deal for Gabon international superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who currently sit sixth in the standings following their 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, are thought to be willing to test Borussia Dortmund’s resolve over their star striker with a £60m swoop once the current 2015-16 campaign has concluded.

The 26-year-old, who has 46 international caps for his country, has scored a remarkable 35 goals and provided 11 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.

Aubameyang, who was named the African Player of the Year, is fast becoming one of Europe’s hottest prospects following his blistering form in front of goal this term.

The report suggests the Gabon hitman is also attracting interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal and La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer.
