Minutes after lifting the Europa League in Stockholm on Wednesday night, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho stated to BT Sport that he is now on holiday and that all transfer business now lays in the hands of Ed Woodward.

One constant gripe of the former Chelsea manager in his first season at Old Trafford has been over his defence, with Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling often coming in for criticism.

With that in mind the Portuguese will, according to trusted Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol, sign a centre half this summer and has already identified his top three targets.

The reporter claimed on Twitter that one of Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, Burnley’s Michael Keane or Benfica’s Victor Lindelof will arrive in the red half of Manchester this summer.

Mourinho will be confident of landing his top targets, especially having sealed Champions League football for next season, after landing all four of the players he set out to sign in his first summer in charge without issue.
