Sunderland are reportedly keen on signing former England youth international striker Will Keane, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who travel to Manchester City on the opening day of the forthcoming 2016/17 English top-flight campaign, have emerged as potential suitors for the out-of-favour Manchester United forward this summer.

The 23-year-old, who is a former England Under-21 international, has made just three first-team appearances for the Red Devils since making his debut back in December 2011.

However he scored two goals in 22 games whilst on loan at Championship out Preston North End last year.

Keane, who is thought to be keen on departing Old Trafford this summer in search of more game time, is understood to also be attracting interest from fellow Premier League rivals Stoke City too.

The report suggests that Keane is valued at around £6.5m, with new Sunderland boss David Moyes keen on the striker’s services after succeeding Sam Allardyce at the Stadium of Light following the latter’s England managerial appointment.
