Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes The Red Devils will display a completely different attacking intent when Jose Mourinho’s side take on Swansea City on Sunday (12:00).

United, who endured a bore goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium against arch rivals Manchester City on Thursday night, lie one point adrift of the Premier League’s top four finish, as the ‘Special One’ aims for qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season.

And after his ex-club’s unconvincing display at City in midweek, where United held just 31 per cent of possession, BT Sport football expert Owen believes Mourinho’s men will go all out against the relegation-threatened Swans for all three points tomorrow.

“I think you will see a home performance with far more attacking intent,” the 37-year-old exclusively told Shoot!.

“Mourinho was more than happy with a draw away from home at their arch-rivals and we have seen it over time, Jose changing tactics for specific teams, the opposition or the venue, so I don’t think you are going to see the same Manchester United team.”

United boss Mourinho.

As for Paul Clement’s visitors, former England international and Liverpool forward Owen added that Swansea can feel hard done by, despite vast improvement under the former Derby County head coach.

“I think Swansea have been absolutely brilliant since their manager has taken over,” Owen admitted, with the Welsh outfit two points adrift of safety in 18th place in the Premier League standings.

“They have almost been really unfortunate that Hull [City] have been doing very similarly since their new manager [Marco Silva] has taken over.

“The run they have been on, I would have expected them to be out of the relegation zone.

“But unfortunately for them, they are not and they go to Old Trafford, which is a place of a team at the moment which needs a win themselves, so it should be a cracking game.”
