Manchester United are reportedly ready to consider selling winger Jesse Lingard following his underwhelming Manchester derby performance at the weekend, according to Playing For 90.

The Premier League side, who lost 2-1 to arch-rivals Manchester City inside Old Trafford on Saturday, saw their 100 per cent league record this term come to a grinding halt as goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho saw Pep Guardiola’s Citizens walk away from The Theatre of Dream victorious, despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s consolation.

However the report suggests that new Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has been unimpressed with forward Lingard’s performance(s), which could spell the end of his career at United.

The 23-year-old, who is a former England Under-21 international, made his first Premier League start of the 2016/17 campaign against City – only to be substituted at half-time by the ‘Special One’ for fellow forward Marcus Rashford.

Lingard scored in United’s 2-1 FA Community Shield victory against defending league champions Leicester City earlier this term, but was ruled out of his side’s opening three Premier League ties due to an ankle injury.
