After a mid-week distraction with EFL Cup football, the Premier League returned to our screens at the weekend, and it did not disappoint.

The weekend began with the champions, Leicester, visiting a Man United side with a point to prove off the back of three straight defeats, and well, they made themselves heard. A resounding 4-1 victory left the Red Devils with their heads held high in the early kick-off after a disastrous week.

The Foxes’ visit to Old Trafford set the tone for the rest of the day’s action, with big wins for Liverpool, Man City and, perhaps most spectacularly, Arsenal – who made light work of Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side.

There was also an end to the Everton party as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at the Vitality Stadium against an impressive Bournemouth side, with Junior Stanislas once again notching against the Toffees.

Come Sunday and there was just the one fixture for everyone to sink their teeth into, as Southampton made their first trip to the London Stadium and picked up their complementary three points on the way out.

So, what can we take from the weekend’s action? Who impressed and who will be feeling glum this morning? Here is what’s hot and what’s not after a weekend of Premier League football…
