New Everton manager Ronald Koeman is reportedly targeting moves for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul and Zenit Saint Petersburg’s Axel Witsel, according to the Daily Express.

The former Southampton boss was convinced to quit the south coast outfit after talks with the Toffees’ new major shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, who told the Dutchman he would be given in excess of £100million to strengthen the squad this summer.

Two aforementioned players are already said to be on the radar of the Merseyside outfit, with Koeman looking to sign a new goalkeeper following the departure of Tim Howard at the end of his contract, which has left Joel Robles as his only recognised stopper.

Krul is set to leave St James’ Park following the Toon’s relegation to the Championship, while Koeman is also looking to strengthen his midfield and is a long-term admirer Witsel, a Belgium international, who has just a year left on his contract at the Russian club, and is also said to be interesting Everton’s Premier League rivals, Stoke City.
