Newcastle United will be returning to the Premier League in August after clinching the Championship title last time round.
Rafa Benitez’s men were under pressure to secure an immediate return to the top-flight, given the amount of money they spent as well as the stature of the club, and they did not disappoint by winning 29 of their 46 league games, finishing nine points clear of third place Reading.
And the Magpies even pipped Chris Hughton’s Brighton to top spot on the final day of the campaign to round off a stunning season for the North East giants, and one which has earned them a spot in the 2017/18 Premier League.
And attentions have already turned to their top-flight campaign next term as Benitez looks to reinforce his squad in a bid to be competitive in the Premier League, with Christian Atsu the first man through the door on a permanent deal.
And they have also been linked with a move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who bagged 26 goals in all competitions for Bristol City last season, yet his recent comments in The Daily Mail may well have thrown any move into doubt.
The 19-year-old has yet to decide on his future, and this seemingly lack of commitment to any move has stimulated quite a response from Newcastle fans on Twitter, with several suggesting that the club should end their pursuit of Abraham as a result…
Move on then

If he can’t make his mind up he’s not for us! We want committed players, even loans

We should forget Abraham, clearly doesn’t WANT to play for #nufc

Then move on. Better off with players who want to join rather than those trying to smoke out better offers.

If he feels that’s even a choice then we don’t want him.

Better make his mind up quick, cos Rafa ain’t got time to hang around – other irons in the fire.
