Harry Maguire has been linked with a move to Newcastle.

According to a report in the Shields Gazette, Newcastle and Spurs are both keen on keeping the Hull City stopper in the Premier League.

Maguire had a largely blameless campaign despite Hull being relegated with the 24-year-old thriving in the battle to retain top flight status.

Despite many prophets of doom it was only on match-day 37 away to Crystal Palace that the Tigers were relegated when they lost 4-0 to a rampant home side.

Maguire has one season left on his current deal and seems certain to be sold rather than retained or put on a new deal.

Rafa Benitez wants to bring in tried and tested players to keep Newcastle well clear of net seasons relegation dog fight.

Maguire fits that description perfectly but Newcastle will have to move quickly if they want to secure the defender with other clubs keeping an eye on developments.
