Arsenal star wants out

Striker Carlos Vela wants to leave Arsenal.

The 22-year-old Mexican says he has asked his agent to arrange his departure from the Gunners.

Vela, currently on a season long loan to Real Sociedad, has made a total of 62 apperances for Arsenal, scoring seven goals, since joining them in 2005.

There were high hopes for the Mexico forward when he was a £500,000 arrival from Guadalajara as he was one of the most-watched players outside of Europe.

But work permit problems meant he was loaned out to Salamanca and Osasuna before gaining the right to play with a permit granted in 2008.

Last campaign he went on loan to West Brom from January to the end of the season and scored twice in eight apperances.
