Bridge is a Black Cat
Tuesday, 31/01/2012
Defender Wayne Bridge has joined Sunderland on loan until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old left back had a spell at West Ham last campaign but has been used just once by Manchester City this term.
The former England defender was a £12m buy from Chelsea by City in January 2009.
Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill said: "I'm hoping that with Wayne's ability and experience he can be a big help.
"I'm very pleased to have him here and with the number of injuries we've sustained recently I'm sure he'll be a great help to us."
Sunderland have also signed former defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos, 32, on loan from Wolfsburg until the end of the season.
