Cabaye banned

Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has today been banned for three matches.

The Frenchman denied an FA charge of violent conduct during last week's FA Cup clash with Brighton.

But a regulatory commission has found him guilty ofkicking out at defender Adam El-Abd.

The Brighton player had offered his support to Cabaye over the incident.

The midfielder maestro will now miss tonight's match at Blackburn, the home game against Aston Villa and the fixture at Tottenham.
