Cats ready to pounce
Wednesday, 15/06/2011
Steve Bruce is set to cut short his holiday to sign new players for Sunderland.
The Black Cats gaffer is on standby to return home if negotiations stall over the arrival of THREE Manchester United stars.
Midfielder Darron Gibson and defender Wes Brown appear keen to join former United centre half Bruce at the Stadium of Light.
But utility player John O'Shea is understood to have doubts about making the move. A fee has been agreed for all three to make the move over the Pennines.
The deal could go through before the weekend and then Bruce will keep up his search for a striker. Liverpool's David Ngog is expected to sign although Peter Crouch says he wants to stay at Tottenham.
Birmingham's goal scoring midfielder Craig Gardner is seen as a replacement for the departed Jordan Henderson and his St. Andrews team-mate Seb Larsson is also wanted.
Keeper Craig Gordon and defender Anton Ferdinand will be allowed to leave for the right offers.
