Celtic move for United keeper

Celtic have made a £1.5m bid for Newcastle keeper Fraser Forster.

The 23-year-old made a massive impression last season during a loan with the Glasgow giants.

Steve Harper is the current No.1 at St. James' Park although he will be seriously challenged this season by Holland Under-21 stopper Tim Krul.

Magpies boss Alan Pardew has already suggested that one of his keepers will again go out on loan this season.

Hexham-born Forster, 6ft 7in, is highly rated by Newcastle who might be reluctant to part with the shot-stopper who has built a big reputation during a number of loans.
