Do Toon need takeover?

Seeing talk of another potential takeover at St. James' Park (and therefore potentially more instability) doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
While most supporters would love to see the back of Mike Ashley, the fact that the club could do with trying to return to the stability and style of football that we got to see in the Championship last season mustn’t be forgotten.
As much as it pains me to say this, it was almost refreshing to see Niall Quinn and Steve Bruce on the local news last week. Both of them (who seem to have managed to turn Sunderland into a relatively stable club instead of the yo-yo club that they were a few seasons ago) were sat on a stage in a pub in Sunderland explaining many of their decisions during their time at the club.
This is the sort of thing that wouldn’t do the Newcastle bosses any harm at the current time, as let’s face it, Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias aren’t exactly the most popular people in Toon.
While Alan Pardew is getting on with the job and not doing too badly, there is still a lot of bad feeling about Chris Hughton’s departure when he was a firm favourite with the supporters.
A stunt like this wouldn’t win Mike Ashley any prizes but it might gain him a bit of respect among the people that pay the ticket prices and buy the merchandise to keep the club going.
Although a bit of money has been filtering through since he joined, he has been reclusive when it comes to facing the media, and this doesn’t often go down fantastically with the supporters.
So, is it worth praying for another takeover by people who might well want to bring in their own manager, or is it better to try and stick it out for another season or two to see if the current management can’t build on the foundations that they’re laying?
