England hopeful Joe Hart has been warned he won't find life easy back at Manchester City - with Eastlands No.1 Shay Given set to bounce back from injury.

Given missed the end of last season with a shoulder injury that could have kept him out for the first few weeks of the new term.

But the Republic of Ireland shot-stopper expects to play some part in City's tour of the USA and be ready for the big kick-off on August 14.

Given, 34, is aiming to be between the sticks when City visit Tottenham for the first game of the season, which will be shown live on Sky Sports.

"I've had a punctured bowel in the past so dislocating my shoulder was like having a tooth filled by comparison," said the former Newcastle hero. "I've had pain before and it's how you deal with it that matters."

Given actually hopes to be back on international duty before the Premier League kick-off - and turn out for his country against Argentina, in a friendly organised to open the new Aviva Stadium, the old Lansdowne Road.
