Gunners star nets new deal
Tuesday, 10/01/2012
Francis Coquelin has agreed a new long term deal with Arsenal.
The length of his contract has not been revealed but is thought to be five years.
The 20-year-old France Under-21 midfielder has been used as a full back in recent games to cover for the Gunners' horrific injury problems.
He spent last season on loan to French side Lorient but has now forced his way into Arsene Wenger's long term plans as a regular first team squad member.
Coquelin made his Arsenal debut in the League Cup in September 2008 and appeared last August in the Premier League when he turned out against Champions Manchester United.
There had been talk of the youngster going out on loan this window until the end of the season but that now appears unlikely.
