New Fulham manager Martin Jol is delighted to be back in English football and is already preparing for his first game in charge of the West Londoners.
Jol will take charge of his first Cottagers' game next Thursday at home to NSI Runavik of the Faroe Islands in the First Qualifying Round of the Europa League.
Jol has already expressed his ambition and spoken of the challenge he has been set at the club: “They had a very good season last year, and we all know how well they did the season before that one too.”
The Dutchman has a lot to live up to taking charge at Fulham, following on from three very successful seasons for the club.
“I have a really good feeling about this club and I want to help add to that success. Fulham is happy, I am happy and hopefully we will stay that way. I am very much looking forward to the challenge and it’s certainly an exciting time for us all," he added.
Fulham fans will be relishing the chance of travelling Europe once again following their team, after Roy Hodgson led them to the Europa League Final in 2010.
Although a trip to the Faroe Islands might not be a particularly glamorous First Round tie, the new Fulham boss has aspirations of taking the club on another European adventure.
“It’s the second time Fulham have been in Europe in three seasons and that is very positive. It’s a fantastic achievement for the club and we’ll do what we can to get as far as possible. We’re certainly looking forward to getting going," he added.
