Newcastle hope on injury front
Monday, 12/12/2011
Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini could return for their home game against Swansea at the weekend.
And the Magpies could also have battling midfielder Cheick Tiote back in the fold.
But the Geordies' defence, already crippled by the loss of centre half Steven Taylor, will not be boosted by the return of Mike Williamson.
Williamson is back in training after an ankle injury that has kept him out since the start of the season and there is a slim chance he might be put on the bench, if he comes through a run out with the reserves this week.
A return by Coloccini would be a massive boost for Newcastle and Pardew admitted: "We don't think he's too bad - he's got a chance."
Taylor could be out for the rest of the season and midfielder Danny Guthrie is expected to have a six week lay off with a groin problem.
Tiote, out since October with a knee problem, reportedly visited a witch doctor back home on the Ivory Coast to help his healing process.
