Pardew out of England running
Thursday, 09/02/2012
Alan Pardew has ruled himself out of taking over as England manager.
The Newcastle boss says he is flattered but doesn't consider himself a candidate.
Pardew, who is backing Harry Redknapp for the role, said: "As an Englishman, I am proud to be in that sort of frame, but it's not for me and I will make that quite clear.
"I am not even in the running as far as I am concerned I am very, very happy here at Newcastle.
"We are on a little project here that's going really well and I want to see it through. The passion and everything about this place is why I want to stay here."
Ironically, Pardew and Redknapp go head to head this week when Newcastle travel to Tottenham for a Saturday evening Premier League kick off.
