QPR miss out on target
Friday, 27/01/2012
Chelsea defender Alex is set to join Paris Saint Germain.
The Brazilian has turned down the chance to join QPR after talks with Rangers and is also believed to have snubbed interest from two other Premier League sides.
He links up with former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti who said: "He will be a PSG player. It was a good opportunity given his price and his desire to join PSG."
Alex, 29, was granted a transfer request made to Stamford Bridge chiefs and is believed to have cost the French side around £4m.
The defender signed for the Blues in 2004 but was loaned out to PSV Eindhoven to 2007. The arrival of Gary Cahill speeded up his exit.
