Rangel boost for Swansea

Premier League new boys Swansea have been given a boost from defender Angel Rangel.

The defender, who has been with the Swans since 2007, has agreed a three-year contract extension.

Rangel, 28, was just 48 hours from his contract running out and had attracted the attention of other top-flight sides.

Swansea have already lost keeper Dorus De Vries and midfielder Darren Pratley on frees as they too were out of contract. De Vries has joined Wolves.
