Striker deal collapses
Friday, 15/07/2011
Carlton Cole's move to Stoke has collapsed after the player failed to agree terms.
The Potters had agreed a fee of around £6m to sign striker Cole from West Ham.
The Hammers last week refused the Potters first offer for the former Chelsea forward.
It is understood the plauyer could not get the wages he thought he deserved that were around the same as City's top players.
Cole, 27, has been at Upton Park since summer 2006 and has scored 42 goals in 140 appearances.
West Ham are considering and offer to former Chelsea striker Eidur Gudejohnsen, 32, and midfielder Joey O'Brien, released by Bolton.
