Scotland striker James McFadden has returned to Everton.
The hitman, released by Birmingham City in the summer, has trained, played in a reserve fixture and earnt himself a contract until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old has struggled with a knee injury after surgery earlier this year.
McFadden said: "I am coming here to get fit, get playing and try to enjoy my football and hopefully secure a longer-term contract."
Everton first signed McFadden from Motherwell for £1.25m in 2003. He was sold to Birmingham for £5m in January 2008 but did not play last season.
