Sunderland have won Dong!

Sunderland's squad rebuilding has continued with the signings of South Korean Ji Dong-Won and midfielder Craig Gardner.

Striker Dong-won, 20, has arrived from Chunnam Dragons in Japan's K-League and agreed a three-year deal after being granted a work permit.

Dong said: "As a striker, I like to overwhelm defenders. My aim is to help the team get as many points as possible."

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce said: "The boy has been in fantastic form for both club and country as he was one of South Korea's stand-out performers at the Asian Cup."

No fee has been revealed for the player who has signed just 24 hours after the arrival of teenage hitman Connor Wickham from Ipswich for around £8m.

Birmingham City's Craig Gardner is also expected to sign on at the Stadium of Light following a medical.

The 24-year-old midfielder is believed to be costing around £6m and joins former St. Andrews team-mate Seb Larsson who has signed on a free, plus keeper Keiren Westwood from Coventry.
