Villa Given a boost

Shay Given is set for a return to action with Aston Villa.

The Republic of Ireland star has been out of action since the start of last month with a hamstring injury.

But he now faces a fight to win back the No.1 spot because of how Brad Guzan has deputised for him.

Given is thought to be fit enough to face Everton this weekend and admits: "I want to try and get back in as soon as I can and hopefully it will happen on Saturday.

"The team have played really well and I'm delighted for the team and I'm delighted for Brad, because we've had some fantastic results over the past few weeks."

Given, 35, is anxious to get back into action so he is fit and prepared for this summer's Euro 2012 finals.
