Villa set to miss out
Monday, 02/08/2010
Celtic's wantaway winger Aidan McGeady is set to fly to Russia tomorrow (Tuesday), after Spartak Moscow had a £9.5m bid accepted for the mercurial winger.
Martin O'Neill was interested in linking up with the Ireland midfielder again, having managed him at Celtic Park during his tenure, but the Aston Villa manager's £7.5m valuation doesn't match up to Spartak's offer.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has admitted that the 24-year-old is set for a Glasgow departure, but a dream move to the Premier League hasn't been forthcoming.
Villa, in limbo over the potential sale of James Milner to Man City, see McGeady as a direct replacement for the England midfielder.
