Villa’s Jenas blow

Aston Villa midfielder Jermaine Jenas looks like being out for the rest of the season.

The on-loan Tottenham star has had surgery on an Achilles injury after being stretchered off in last weekend's game against Manchester United.

Jenas, 28, arrived on a season-long loan in the summer but was out injured until the start of next month.

He had hoped that the temporary move would kick-start his England career before the finals of Euro 2012.

Boss Alex McLeish said: "To lose a player of his talent and experience is bad enough, but never to have seen him play enough in the Villa shirt for our fans to appreciate the player he is, that's terrible bad luck."
