Barmby just the job?
Tuesday, 20/12/2011
Nick Barmby will learn this week if he is to land his dream role as manager of Hull City.
Barmby has worked wonders as caretaker-player for his local side with five wins in seven games since he took charge.
The 37-year-old former Tottenham, Middlesbrough, Everton, Liverpool and Leeds player joined Hull in 2004 and helped them into the Premier League.
The club's owners are keen to get him into the hot-seat on a permanent basis, taking over from Nigel Pearson who returned to Leicester City last month.
Barmby has so far refused to talk about the post, saying he wants to concentrate on the Tigers' Christmas and New Year matches. Hull are currently fourth in the Championship.
