Birmingham sign USA defender

Released West Ham defender Jonathan Spector has signed for relegated Birmingham City.

The USA star and former Manchester United player has agreed a two-year deal.

He is boss Chris Hughton's seventh signing of the close season. The manager said: "He's a very good age and can play in a few positions. I think he will be a big asset for this club."

Spector, 25, has made 31 appearances for his country and has also played in England for Charlton
