Bristol City’s Maynard boost

Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard looks set to pledging his future to the club.

The 24-year-old striker is out of contract at the end of the season but has rejected a move to Leicester City.

The Robins know they could be forced to sell the player in January or risk losing him on a free next summer.

But Maynard is back on form since the arrival of new boss Derek McInnes and has admitted that the club's good results recently might encourage him to put pen to paper.

"The key thing as far as I'm concerned is that the team is doing well. If that continues, then of course there is a better chance of me signing a new deal," said Maynard.
