Earnshaw returns to Cardiff

Nottingham Forest have lost striker Rob Earnshaw who has agreed to return to Cardiff City.

The 30-year-old Wales frontman joins the Bluebirds on a free, seven years after leaving the club.

Earnshaw was out-of-contract at Forest and was wanted by new boss Steve McClaren but decided on the return to a club where he made his name.

It is understood that a number of sides, including West Ham and Celtic, were interested in the player.

Earnshaw is the Bluebirds fourth signing of the summer and joins Andrew Taylor, Craig Conway and Don Cowie at City.
