Forssell joins Leeds

Former Chelsea and Birmingham City striker Mikael Forssell has joined npower Championship side, Leeds United, until the end of season.

The Finland international was out of contract after spending three years with German side, Hannover 96.
The 30-year-old’s first spell in England came in 1998 when he joined Chelsea from HJK Helsinki. He joined Birmingham City in 2005 and also enjoyed loan spells with CrystalPalace and Borussia Moenchengladbach.

The sharp-shooting striker is pleased to be returning to the English game.

"I've missed English football and I really wanted to come back here.

"To come to a club like Leeds is fantastic. I've been working hard and training over the summer.

"It is such an historic club, the team is good, the lads are positive, the facilities are unbelievable and the fans look brilliant."
