French striker for Boro

Middlesbrough are understood to be checking out Paris Saint Germain forward Loris Arnaud.

The Championship promotion hopefuls are believed to have run the rule over the 24-year-old who is out of favour at his club.

Arnaud has not been in PSG's first team for around a year and has spent some time out on loan in France's second tier.

Boro boss Tony Mowbray is keeping tight-lipped on his options but said: "There's lots of names out there we're discussing without making definitive decisions.

"It's not right to talk about players at other clubs. If the opportunity comes to add to our squad we'll seriously look at it in January."

Arnaud, who can play as a striker or winger, is valued at around £300,000 but is out of contract next summer and could cost a nominal fee.
