Ipswich land England keeper

Ipswich have signed England Under-21 keeper Alex McCarthy on loan.

The Reading shot-stopper, who has just had two months at Leeds, will be with Town until April.

McCarthy, 22 last month, won three Under-21 caps and has spent much of his Royals career out on loan, although he has made 16 first team appearances in the League for his parent club.

Meanwhile, Iceland defender Ivar Ingimarsson, 34, has left the club with five months remaining on his contract. He has been paid off by the Tractor Boys.
