Leeds get keeper

Leeds United have signed Preston keeper Andy Lonergan.

The shot-stopper has agreed a three-year deal at Elland Road.

The No.1 shirt has been left empty by the departure of Kasper Schmeichel and Lonergan will compete for it with Paul Rachubka who has been signed from Blackpool.

Lonergan, 27, a former England Under-21 player, has been watched by a number of Premier League sides over the past two seasons.
