Pompey deducted ten points
Saturday, 18/02/2012
Portsmouth have been deducted ten points for going into administration.
They are now just outside of the relegation drop zone on goal difference.
Pompey were hit with a winding up order in the High Court yesterday over a £1.6m unpaid tax bill.
The club have seven days to appeal the Football League points deduction and have appointed Trevor Birch, formerly chief executive at Leeds and Chelsea, as their administrator.
It is the second time Portsmouth have gone into administration. Last time it cost them their Premier League status – this time they are in danger of dropping into League One.
