QPR double capture

by Shoot's QPR blogger, Ryan Forrester.
Still unbeaten in the league thanks to a dramatic 2-2 draw away at Derby on our last outing, the spirit and confidence amongst the players and fans remains sky high.
That result, which came courtesy of two stoppage-time strikes, meant the Rs went into the international break leading the pack, albeit on goal difference.
After a somewhat disappointing 90 minutes, the players demonstrated a fighting quality that Neil Warnock has instilled at the club since his arrival.
The most pleasing aspect was the fact that we had played well below par but still managed to salvage something from the game. Come the end of the season that point could prove pivotal in our push for promotion.
With the addition of Rob Hulse to the squad on transfer deadline day, a proven goalscorer at this level, our quality in attack has improved considerably.
Playing in front of possibly the strongest midfield in the league, Hulse will certainly be provided with the service, and if he can stay clear of injuries, he could be exactly what we have been crying out for in recent years.
A deal to bring Portsmouth forward Tommy Smith to the club was also agreed last week, but as of yet has not been ratified by the Football League. The reasons as to why it is taking so long remain unclear.
Like Hulse, Smith has shown himself to be a quality player at this level with a number of clubs, most notably Watford, and if he regains the form he displayed in his last spell at Vicarage Road, we have a very good player on our books.
This weekend sees the arrival of the much fancied Middlesbrough to Loftus Road, which on paper should provide our toughest test so far, and a chance to avenge the 5-1 defeat inflicted in this fixture last season.
Despite a stuttering start to the season, Warnock will remind the players of the quality that Boro have throughout their squad, and the message that we would send out to our rivals if we were to achieve a convincing victory.
