Reading defender Alex Pearce is the nPower Player of the Month for December.

He scored twice as the Royals four clean sheets in five games.

Reading manager Brian McDermott said: "I'm delighted for Alex. He's not only helped the team with clean sheets, he's scored some important goals too."

The other nominated players were Nicky Bailey (Middlesbrough); Ricardo Vaz Te (Barnsley); Kieran Trippier (Burnley).
