Reading striker wanted

Swansea are set to swoop for Reading striker Simon Church.

The 23-year-old Wales hitman is wanted by the Swans who are believed to want a player plus cash exchange deal.

That could involve former Royal Leroy Lita returning to the Madejski Stadium – but Reading are keen to have cash to help boost their Championship play-off hopes.

Church, who has come through the Reading youth system, would cost around £2m. He has had loans to Crewe, Yeovil, Wycombe and Leyton Orient.

Church this week talked up the team spirit at Reading having played his part in their rise up the Championship table after a miserable start to the campaign, but he would find it hard to resist a chance of jumping straight into the Premier League.
