Rovers blunt Sharp move
Monday, 19/12/2011
Doncaster Rovers have slapped a £3m price tag on striker Billy Sharp.
Chairman John Ryan has admitted that a clause has been put in the hitman's contract allowing any club that matches that figure to talk to the player.
Championship leader Southampton and Ipswich Town have both had bids for Sharp rejected.
But Rovers will allow Sharp to decide if he wants to stay or go if another team come in for him.
"Obviously, we don't want to lose the lad at this vital stage when we are fighting to retain our Championship status," said Ryan.
