Striker joins Blackpool

Former Newcastle striker Lomana Lua Lua has agreed a deal with Blackpool until the end of the season.

The forward could now face one of his other former clubs, Portsmouth, this weekend.

Lua Lua, 30, was released by Omonia of Cyprus in the summer and has long expressed a desire to return to England.

He had said he would be keen on rejoining Newcastle but has trained recently with Hartlepool, managed by former Newcastle coach Mick Wadsworth.

Pools had hoped to offer him a deal but have been beaten by Blackpool.
