Striker set for Boro
Thursday, 12/01/2012
Middlesbrough are on the verge of signing £2m rated Coventry striker Lukas Jutkiewicz.
The promotion chasers want the former Everton player to boost their chances of a return to the Premier League.
The 22-year-old has hit nine goals for the Championship relegation battlers and the Sky Blues need the cash to boost their own chances of survival.
Jutkiewicz has been watched by a number of teams and Boro did try to sign him last summer. The Southampton-born frontman also interested his home town team.
Jutkiewicz joined Coventry in 2010 from Everton after a season on loan at Motherwell. He began his career with Swindon Town.
Boro boss Tony Mowbray has admitted that Jutkiewicz was a target last summer but that interest was dropped when the transfer window shut.
