Swansea move for striker

Premier League new boys Swansea have failed in a bid for Watford striker Danny Graham.

Their £3m offer for the Championship's top scorer was turned down - just like an earlier £2.5m bid from fellow top-flight newcomers QPR.

Both the Swans and Rangers are likely to go back with new bids for the Geordie-born striker who began his career at Middlesbrough.

Graham, 25, hit 27 goals last term, 24 of them in the league. He played under Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers during the gaffer's time at Vicarage Road.
