Beckford’s gong

Jermaine Beckford has been named League One Player of the Year for the second time in three seasons.

The Leeds striker, who is out of contract at the end of the season, was linked with moves to Newcastle and Everton during January but agreed to stay at Elland Road.

Beckford, with 27 goals so far this season, beat off the challenge of Norwich's Wes Hoolahan and Southampton striker Richie Lambert.
