Grayson’s a Terrier
Tuesday, 21/02/2012
Simon Grayson is the new manager of Huddersfield – less than three weeks after being dumped by Leeds United.
He takes over from Lee Clark who was surprisingly sacked by the Terriers last week.
Clark had led Huddersfield to a record unbeaten run and had them poised for promotion in fourth spot in League One.
Grayson, 42, said he was delighted to get back into football so quickly – and that he had expected to stay out of the game for a short time.
"It fits perfectly with me and something that excites me," he said. "It's not often you come to a club where you have the chance to get automatic promotion."
Grayson is understood to have agreed a lower compensation package from Elland Road so that he could take over at the Galpharm.
