None of the sides in the top three were able to register all three points allowing the chasing pack to take advantage.

Crawley were held 1-1 by 10-man Crewe at Gresty Road as Matt Tubbs cancelled out Wes Fletcher’s opener for the hosts but despite the setback the visitors remain unbeaten in 15 matches.

They move a point clear of Southend, who suffered a surprise 1-0 home defeat against a struggling Bradford City on Friday night. Luke Oliver’s goal gave the Bantams their first win on the road this term.

Like the leaders, Cheltenham were held on their travels as they drew 2-2 at Underhill against Barnet, a result which ended their sequence of eight consecutive away victories.

Shrewsbury beat Macclesfield 1-0 at Greenhous Meadow to move within two points of the top three.

Swindon extended their run without loss to 15 matches with a comfortable 3-0 success against Morecambe at the County Ground.

Burton surprisingly drew 1-1 at home to basement side Dagenham & Redbridge, who ended a run of nine successive defeats with this point, but remain bottom on goals scored.

Gillingham registered a convincing 4-1 win against Bristol Rovers at Priestfield, with Danny Kedwell influential in the performance after he netted two penalties.

Oxford United tasted success for the first time in seven encounters as they beat lowly Northampton 2-0 at the Kassam Stadium.

Rotherham moved back up to the fringes of the play-off positions after Sam Wood’s late shot gave them a 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon at the Don Valley.

Port Vale thrashed Aldershot 4-0 at Vale Park in a Guy Madjo inspired-win as the striker netted a hat-trick.

Accrington moved above Torquay after beating them 3-1 at the Crown Ground in a match which saw both sides have players dismissed.

There was a similar occurrence in the fixture between Plymouth and Hereford at Home Park but it finished 1-1 between the two strugglers.
