Chesterfield finally won the title as they beat promotion hopefuls Gillingham 3-1 at home.

The Gills missed out on a play-off spot on goal difference from Torquay, who lost 3-1 away at Rotherham and Stevenage, who drew 3-3 as they hosted already promoted Bury.

Wycombe joined the Shakers in League 1 as they beat Southend 3-1 at Adams Park.

Shrewsbury having to settle for a play-off place despite their 3-0 demolition of Oxford. They will face the side from Devon whilst Accrington Stanley will play Stevenage.

At the bottom of the table there was last day drama as Lincoln, who lost nine of their last ten games, were relegated to the Conference following their 3-0 home defeat by Aldershot – coupled with Barnet narrowly beating Port Vale 1-0 at Underhill thanks to Izale McLeod’s penalty which saw the Bees survive on the last day for the second successive season.
